THE NUDES MAYBELLINE NEWYORK PALETTE REVIEW

Hi My Angels,

I'm not a big fan of wearing eyeshadow. My everyday eye makeup is usually limited to mascara, eyeliner, and kohl, and I'm good to go. However, after watching a few makeup tutorials, I thought, why not experiment with eye makeup?

One thing I was sure about was that I didn't want anything too glittery or dramatic. I was looking for a palette with matte and nude shades that would create a soft, natural look with minimal color contrast on the eyelids.

That's when I came across the Maybelline New York The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. In this post, I'll be sharing my honest experience with the palette, along with swatches of all the shades and my overall thoughts after using it.

MY OBSERVATIONS :

I really like the packaging of this palette. It's compact, lightweight, and travel-friendly, making it easy to carry in your handbag. The palette contains 12 eyeshadow pans and comes in a sturdy transparent case, allowing you to see all the shades without opening it.

One feature I really appreciate is that the back of the palette includes a helpful guide showing how to create eye looks using duos, trios, or quad combinations. Whether you prefer wearing a single shade for a subtle look or blending two, three, or four shades for added depth, the palette provides easy-to-follow suggestions, making it beginner-friendly.

In my opinion, this is an excellent eyeshadow palette for makeup beginners and for anyone who prefers soft, natural eye makeup instead of bold or colorful looks. The palette mainly consists of beautiful nude tones, including beige, peach, cream, taupe, shimmering bronze, dark brown, charcoal, and grey shades. These neutral colors are perfect for everyday wear and create elegant, wearable eye looks.

One thing I noticed is that some of the lighter nude shades are very subtle and may not show up well on bare eyelids, especially if you have medium to deeper skin tones. I would recommend applying an eye primer or concealer first to create an even base. This helps the colors appear more vibrant, improves their pigmentation, and makes your eye makeup stand out much better.

The shades in this palette complement Indian skin tones beautifully and are ideal for creating soft, everyday eye makeup looks. It doesn't contain chunky glitter shades, making it a great choice for those who prefer a subtle finish. Instead, the palette offers a balanced mix of matte, satin, and finely shimmery shades, giving you plenty of options to create both daytime and evening looks.

The palette also comes with a double-ended sponge applicator. However, I personally wouldn't recommend using it, as it can make the application less precise and sometimes a bit messy. For the best color payoff and smoother blending, it's better to use good-quality eyeshadow brushes.

When it comes to staying power, I found that the eyeshadows last for around 3–4 hours on my eyelids before they begin to fade. Using an eyeshadow primer underneath can help improve both the longevity and the color payoff.

Many of the shades are perfect for everyday wear, especially if you prefer a soft, natural makeup look. For a quick daily eye makeup routine, simply apply a nude shade from this palette, add eyeliner, and finish with Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara. This simple combination beautifully enhances the eyes without looking overdone.

The palette also includes a few deeper and shimmery shades that are ideal for evening events, parties, or festive occasions. Overall, the versatility of this palette allows you to create anything from a subtle daytime look to a more defined evening look—it all depends on how you blend and combine the shades to suit your style.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT PRODUCT:

  • The staying power could be better, as the eyeshadows last for only about 3–4 hours without a primer.
  • The palette is best suited for makeup beginners or those who prefer soft, natural eye looks. If you enjoy highly pigmented, vibrant, or bold eyeshadow looks, you may find the shade range a bit limited.

KAURZSCOOP'S RECOMMENDATION:

In my opinion, this palette is ideal for beginners who are just starting to experiment with eye makeup. If you're already experienced with eye makeup and prefer highly pigmented or bold eyeshadow looks, you may not find this palette versatile enough to add to your collection.

However, for those who love minimal, natural-looking makeup and need an everyday eyeshadow palette, it's a great option. The neutral shades are easy to use, wearable, and perfect for creating soft, elegant looks for daily wear.
