Beauty or Skin care Regime comes with a long list of Do's And Don't we all get confused between the thin lines of do's and don'ts in skin care or beauty  Regime because there are lots of people like our friends, family and relatives who always suggest us do this or don't do this for your beauty care. After all these suggestions not enough we have social media to guide us what to do or what not to do.So today i'm clearing few of the doubts  hearing so many myths about beauty because i thought to give fair suggestions to my readers so keep reading further:

Truth:::

Actually different brands have different product lines and expertise in different areas and uses different ingredients for skin care . So we can't relay on same brand line as one brand's moisturizer can be good for my skin type but it's sunscreen can't be suitable for my skin that means some other  brand's sunscreen can be good for my skin type so all these aspects can be different.

5. MYTH: When You Are At Home/Cloudy or Rainy No Need To Apply Sunscreen :

Beauty Myths and Truth Behind And To Stop Believing
Source:google

Truth:::

So if you are sitting at home and enjoying your NETFLIX and No intention to go outside still you need to apply sunscreen because while Glass effectively blocks UVB Rays (Shorter Rays which lead to sunburn) but can't  stop passing UVA Rays (Longer Rays which leads to wrinkles, spot and sun damage )  so these rays can go passing through glass easily. If there is Rainy or cloudy weather even then you need to apply Sunscreen too.

DOES SUNSCREEN IN MAKEUP REALLY COUNTS AND PROTECTS YOUR SKIN ?

In today's fast-paced world, skincare often takes a backseat. Between work, errands, and endless to-do lists, it's easy to skip steps and look for shortcuts—especially when it comes to sun protection. Many of us reach for makeup products like foundation, face powder, or tinted moisturizers that claim to have SPF, thinking they're enough to shield our skin from the sun's harmful UV rays. But here's the thing: this approach could be leaving your skin dangerously exposed.

The Temptation to Skip Sunscreen

Thanks to clever marketing by makeup brands, we've been conditioned to believe that if our foundation or face powder contains SPF, we're protected. It's convenient, saves time, and feels like a two-in-one solution. But dermatologists and skincare experts are clear: makeup with SPF cannot replace a dedicated sunscreen.

Why? Because the amount of SPF-infused makeup you'd need to apply for effective protection would be impractical and would result in a thick, cakey finish.

What Experts Actually Say

The truth is, makeup-integrated sunscreen provides minimal protection against UVA and UVB rays. Experts recommend using a dedicated sunscreen as part of your daily skincare routine, followed by makeup if desired. This ensures your skin gets the proper SPF coverage it needs.

Confused About Sunscreen Types?

With so many options—mineral vs. chemical sunscreen, UVA/UVB protection, and various SPF levels—choosing the right one can feel overwhelming.

Continue reading to learn everything you need to know about sunscreen types and how to choose the best one for your skin

  • Makeup SPF vs. Real Sunscreen: What's the Actual Difference?

Can Your Foundation or BB Cream Really Protect You From UV Rays?

It's a question many of us ask: If my foundation or tinted moisturizer has SPF, do I really need a separate sunscreen? The short answer is: No, makeup SPF alone is not enough.

    Let me break down why.

The SPF Problem With Makeup Products

Most makeup products with SPF offer only SPF 15, 20, or 25 at best. While this might sound protective, there's a crucial difference between SPF in makeup and SPF in dedicated sunscreen products.

Makeup is designed to look good on your face—not to provide optimal sun protection. To get adequate SPF coverage from makeup, you'd need to apply a significantly thicker layer, which would result in:

  • A cakey, unnatural appearance
  • Uneven coverage
  • Clogged pores

That's not realistic for daily wear.

Why Dedicated Sunscreen is Superior

Real sunscreens are formulated specifically for UV protection and offer:

Broad Spectrum Protection — This means protection from both UVA and UVB rays
Higher SPF Levels — Typically SPF 30 to SPF 50+
Optimal Concentration — The right amount of active ingredients for effective protection
Better Texture — Designed to sit smoothly under makeup without interfering

Broad Spectrum sunscreen doesn't just protect against one type of UV ray—it shields your skin from both:

  • UVB rays = cause sunburn and skin cancer
  • UVA rays = cause premature aging, wrinkles, and deep skin damage

My Top Recommendation: Avène Eau Thermale Very High Protection Emulsion SPF 50+

If you're looking for a sunscreen that actually works with your makeup routine (not against it), I'm obsessed with Avène Eau Thermale Very High Protection Emulsion UVA SPF 50+.

Why I love it:

Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ — Maximum protection from both UVA and UVB rays
Lightweight Emulsion — Slightly sticky texture that helps foundation settle     perfectly and adhere to your skin without sliding off
Makeup-Friendly — Creates an ideal base for foundation application
Dermatologist-Tested — Gentle enough for sensitive skin

The slightly tacky finish might seem unusual at first, but it's actually a bonus—your foundation applies beautifully and lasts longer throughout the day.

The Bottom Line

Don't rely on makeup SPF. Always apply a dedicated broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 (preferably 50+) as part of your skincare routine, before applying makeup. Your skin will thank you in the long run with fewer wrinkles, age spots, and sun damage.

SPF Layering: How to Maximize Sun Protection With Multiple Products

Wait—Do I Still Need SPF Makeup If I'm Using Sunscreen?

After learning that makeup SPF alone isn't enough for adequate sun protection, you might be tempted to skip SPF products altogether. But here's the good news: you shouldn't.

The secret to maximum UV protection isn't choosing either sunscreen or SPF makeup—it's layering them strategically. When done correctly, SPF layering can provide cumulative protection that significantly shields your skin from harmful rays.

How SPF Layering Actually Works

Think of SPF protection like building layers of a fortress. While one layer might have gaps, multiple layers create better coverage and stronger defense against UV rays.

Here's the layering strategy:

  1. SPF Moisturizer — Apply first as your base moisturizer
  2. Dedicated Sunscreen — Apply your broad-spectrum SPF 30-50+ sunscreen
  3. SPF Foundation — Apply your SPF-infused foundation
  4. SPF Concealer — Use concealer with SPF for targeted areas (under eyes, blemishes, etc.)

Each layer adds another level of protection, creating a comprehensive shield against UVA and UVB rays.

The Science Behind Layering

You might wonder: Does SPF stack? Not exactly—SPF doesn't add up mathematically (SPF 15 + SPF 20 ≠ SPF 35). However, each product layer provides:

Improved coverage — Fills in gaps from the previous layer
Better durability — Creates a more durable protective barrier throughout the day
Enhanced adherence — Each layer helps the next product stick better to your skin
Multiple reapplication opportunities — You can reapply foundation/concealer without removing everything

The result? Significantly better protection than using sunscreen alone.

The Complete SPF Layering Routine

StepProductSPF LevelPurpose
1SPF Moisturizer15-30Hydration + Base protection
2Broad Spectrum Sunscreen30-50+Primary UV defense
3SPF Foundation15-25Coverage + Added protection
4SPF Concealer15+Targeted protection & coverage

Real Talk: Does This Actually Make a Difference?

Yes. While the SPF numbers don't add together mathematically, the coverage does. By layering multiple SPF products, you're ensuring:

  • Zero gaps in protection — Every inch of your face is covered
  • Longer-lasting protection — Multiple layers mean better durability
  • Realistic reapplication — You can retouch foundation throughout the day without removing your base sunscreen

This is why many dermatologists recommend this exact layering approach for people who wear makeup daily.

Important Reminder

While SPF layering is effective, remember:

⚠️ The foundation is still the dedicated sunscreen — Your SPF 30-50+ broad-spectrum sunscreen should be your main UV defense
⚠️ Reapply strategically — If you reapply only foundation/concealer without sunscreen, you're maintaining (not adding) protection
⚠️ Coverage matters — The thicker and more even your application, the better the protection

Bottom Line

You absolutely should use SPF makeup products—but as an addition to, not a replacement for, dedicated sunscreen. By strategically layering SPF moisturizer, sunscreen, foundation, and concealer, you create a robust defense system against UV damage, premature aging, and skin cancer risk.

Layering is smart skincare. Use it to your advantage.

My Observations CLINIQUE  Even Better Makeup Foundation SPF15 :

I had been wanting to try the Clinique Even Better Makeup Foundation for a long time, and I was excited when I finally got my hands on it. After using it consistently for more than a month and a half, I can finally share my honest experience.

Before applying the foundation, I prep my skin with The Benefit POREfessional Matte Rescue Gel, followed by The Benefit POREfessional Face Primer. Once my skin is prepped, I apply the foundation.

The first thing I noticed was its texture. It is incredibly smooth—neither too runny nor too thick. The lightweight formula spreads effortlessly and blends into the skin within seconds, giving an even, seamless finish.

In terms of coverage, it provides a natural, skin-like finish with medium coverage. It effectively evens out the complexion and conceals minor imperfections, leaving the skin looking fresh, healthy, and naturally radiant. However, if you have noticeable blemishes, acne scars, or significant pigmentation, this foundation may not provide enough coverage on its own.

What I love most is how lightweight it feels on the skin. It reminds me of a BB cream, but with a much more refined, high-end formula and finish. It's an excellent choice for anyone who prefers natural-looking makeup that enhances the skin rather than masking it.

CLINIQUE EVEN BETTER MAKEUP SPF15

As for the staying power, the foundation lasts around 4–5 hours on my skin before it starts to fade. One thing I really liked is that it doesn't oxidize, so the shade remains true throughout the day.

Another advantage is that it contains SPF, which provides added sun protection. It also doesn't leave a white cast on the skin, unlike some SPF-infused foundations that can make the complexion look unnaturally pale or chalky. Instead, it maintains a natural-looking finish while offering the added benefit of sun protection.

CLINIQUE EVEN BETTER MAKEUP SPF15

The foundation gives the skin a natural, healthy-looking glow and is suitable for all skin types. Like most liquid foundations, it does transfer slightly onto phone screens and other surfaces, so I recommend setting it with a compact powder or setting powder to improve its longevity.

Overall, I think the Clinique Even Better Makeup Foundation is an excellent choice if you're looking for a lightweight foundation that delivers a natural, radiant finish with a "no-makeup" makeup look. The added SPF is a great bonus, making it ideal for everyday wear.

What I liked About CLINIQUE  Even Better Makeup Foundation SPF15:

  • Lightweight formula
  • Blends effortlessly into the skin
  • Travel-friendly packaging
  • Contains SPF for added sun protection
  • Does not oxidize
  • Lasts for 4–5 hours
  • Conceals minor imperfections
  • Gives a natural, radiant glow
  • Provides a non-cakey, skin-like finish
  • Leaves no white cast
  • Offers light to medium coverage

What I Didn't Liked About CLINIQUE  Even Better Makeup Foundation SPF15 :

  • Transfers slightly onto phone screens and other surfaces
  • Expensive compared to many drugstore foundations
  • Doesn't provide enough coverage for blemishes, acne scars, or heavy pigmentation

Kaurzscoop's Recommendations :

Yes, I would definitely recommend this foundation. Its lightweight feel, natural radiant finish, blendable formula, and added SPF make it a great choice for everyday wear. If you prefer a fresh, "no-makeup" makeup look with light to medium coverage, this foundation is definitely worth trying.

First thing is first I love the packaging in tube shape just you need to squeeze from back and you'll get desire amount to apply on face.Light Weight which makes it travel friendly.it has lots of variety in BB CReam shades which is awesome to select for your skin tone I've chosen GBB944 Neutral - For neutral skin tones.

L.A. GIRL HD PRO BB CREAM:

I usually clean my face with Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Face cleanser after that Toner and followed by The Body Shop Drops of Light pure healthy brightening cream and after some time just because to settle down the moisturiser on face and than I just from tube take the desire amount and apply on dotted motions on allover the face and slowly slowly just with help of finger or some times with beauty blender apply on my face.

L.A. GIRL HD PRO BB CREAM:

First Day i took it like usual BB Cream and took little bit of extra amount but i was wrong because of high coverage it needs small amount to cover imperfection from face.I love this product so far I've used so many BB creams but this is the best among all other BB Creams. It lived up to my expectations.
L.A. GIRL HD PRO BB CREAM:

It's texture is not very thick nor very runny so it's easy to take the amount and apply on face.It has high coverage comparably other BB Creams so small amount goes long way in this way it goes for month means its affordable. It texture is very easy to blend so its kind of blend able. This BB Cream is kind of moisturiser effect which gives dewy finish which i like the most.So you can skip the moisturiser step if you want to but in winters I'll advise to apply moisturiser. It's staying power is quite good which is 7-8 hours.
After the application with no time it helps to hide all imperfections and give illusion of perfect dewy face which looks awesome. It's waterproof which is nice in hot weathers too sweat free.So overall I liked this product and fully satisfied with this.👍👍

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT L.A. GIRL HD PRO BB CREAM:

  • It's high coverage like foundation (but not a foundation)
  • It's affordable
  • It's waterproof sweat free
  • It's dewy finish
  • Packaging is good travel friendly
  • staying power is 7-8 hours
  • blend able formation

WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT  L.A. GIRL HD PRO BB CREAM:

  • NO con found

4.9/5
